History

In 2007 the organization was formed as a result of a small group of photographic art enthusiast that collectively represented a variety of photographic style preferences and subject specializations.  Their personal histories and their works reflected their individual talents, well developed artistic skills, and their appreciation for this art form.  A plan was then set in motion to further develop this organization to provided a venue where established artists could continue to hone their artistic skills, knowledge and methodologies, as well as, their exposure as artists.  In doing so the organization would serve as a vehicle for established artists to exhibit their work.  The founding group decided to move forward and establish an organization for the purpose of promoting, developing, displaying, and expressing artistic creativity through photography.  On May 10, 2008 Harford Photographic Arts Society was officially organized and was subsequently granted approval and Federally designated as a tax exempt 501 (c) (3) organization.
